• Description Didn't Match The Holiday House in Cornwall

  We rented a house for one week from this company, which is run by one chap, Mike, and his assistant. The house was nice but it didn't match the description in the brochure and therefore didn't suit our needs. For example, the brochure said 'no pets', but when we arrived there was a cat that lived in the house and we were expected to feed it. We banished the cat to one room, which stank of cat food and, unsurprisingly, cat. The brochure said 'double bed' but the bed was two single mattresses pushed together and it had two single duvets. When we complained to Mike, he said that because the bed was a double frame, it counted as a double bed. When we complained about the cat, he denied that the cat lived in the house and claimed that it lived in the garden (even though there was a catflap) and that it was up to us if we fed it or not. Anyone tried to sleep with a hungry cat yowling downstairs? When I booked the house, I had a few questions about the size of the garden. Mike claimed that the garden was big enough to play football in, but when we arrived, it was a big garden but the three sheds, two sets of garden furniture and lots of plants took up all the room and was unsuitable. When I complained about that he referred me to the terms and conditions which say he only accepts liability for inaccurate descriptions in the brochure, ie not anything he might claim over the telephone. I have rented many houses and flats for holidays over the years and this is my worst UK experience by far.
